Darks

Here are some color studies....

A few more...

I was seeing what the two studies would look like painted. The left ones I just put the paint on there and the right ones I wetted the paper first to see what effects it would have an how it would look.

I used rubber cement on the all the parts that are white and then painted the sky...

And here is the final piece with all the darks painted in. I actually painted the main branches and blew the smaller ones and the grass as well.

Leaving Whites

So there she is :) I actually really like this one. My teacher pointed out some flaws but I think I'll just ignore them. This painting teaches me you just never know with watercolor paint, the skin is actually cobalt blue, quinacridone rose, and gamboge. I'm kind of considering doing another one like this but the background being black and the dress and hat being white... not sure yet we'll see.

The Wolf

Beginning, middle, end. This is one of my favorites... I used an exacto knife to get some texture on the fur, didn't like it so much but ah well (a good learning experience). As for the background I put rock salt to get the fun "snow" texture.

Sorry it's been a while but here is some more!!!
